Are you ready to join on us on the grooviest of all road trips? We're talking about the road trip of Life. Both of us yearn for other chicks (and guys!) to know the joy of a relationship to Jesus Christ. We are only Groovy because we have Christ as Lord of our lives--our road trip. Without Him, our lives would be simply meaningless. With Jesus, things aren't always perfect, but He gives us daily strength, wisdom, grace, and peace.
Do you long for His perspective, His peace in a chaotic world? Do you want to experience a relationship with the One who created the world and loves us with an everlasting love? You can know Him personally, and believe it or not, that new life in Christ can begin right this very instant! You don't need a priest, a mediator or a religion degree to become a born-again Christian. All you really need is faith-God's grace and mercy does the rest!
And you know what else? You don't have to be “better” or “good enough” to come to God! Romans 3:23-24 says, “Since we've compiled this long and sorry record as sinners. . .and proved that we are utterly incapable of living the glorious lives God wills for us, God did it for us. Out of sheer generosity he put us in right standing with himself. A pure gift. He got us out of the mess we're in and restored us to where he always wanted us to be. And he did it by means of Jesus Christ.” (The Message)
How do you begin a relationship with Jesus? Well, for starters, you recognize that He is who He says He is-God's son, perfect and sinless. You believe that He lived as a man, died as an innocent victim, and rose again through God's power. Then you ask Him to forgive your sins and become the Lord of your life.
Nothing “magical” or “mystical” happens by praying this sort of prayer, but what does happen is that you receive what God has already offered and provided: eternal life. The Bible says in Romans 6:23, “But God's gift is real life, eternal life, delivered by Jesus, our Master.” (The Message)
When we allow Christ the access to the controls of our lives, He starts living life through us and making us more like Him. And His life-which never dies-becomes our life! Listen to this: “Jesus Christ rescued us from this evil world we're in by offering himself as a sacrifice for our sins. God's plan is that we all experience that rescue. Glory to God forever! Oh, yes!” (Galatians 1:4, The Message)
When we die, we then shed this earthly body but receive a heavenly body in heaven, where we will live with Jesus and God forever. Wow!!! Now THAT'S what we call GROOVY!!!
